Ratti e Mantero: a new alliance to defend the textile industry.

In a global scenario in which a strong and rapid reaction capacity is required, Ratti and Mantero return to forge an alliance pact aimed above all at the concrete defense of the supply chain.

The agreement was closed which envisages, upon the successful completion of the due diligence operations currently underway, the entry of the two historic textile companies of Como into the capital of Foto Azzurra, a company that has been working in the production since 1989 (composition, photocomposition and photoengraving ) of supports for screen printing applied to fabrics.

After the agreement of March 2020 – in full lockdown – with which the two companies supported each other for the best management of customers, both today reaffirm the importance of creating a system. The entry into Foto Azzurra is the confirmation of how fundamental it is, in critical moments like this, to involve the entire supply chain to create new possibilities for everyone to restart and to continue to guarantee speed of service and maximum quality even when conditions do not seem to allow it.

The operation is not intended to be exclusive between the two companies but also remains open to other interested entities. The agreement will lead to greater solidity of Foto Azzurra which will continue to offer its services to the market with a view to continuous updating and technological evolution.

“We are convinced – explains Sergio Tamborini CEO of the Ratti Group – that in this period there is a need to move from words to deeds, putting in place concrete actions and projects that safeguard the operations of the supply chain and are an incentive for similar operations of other actors”.

For Franco Mantero, CEO of Mantero Seta, “Square printing has characterized the history of Mantero and Ratti and thanks to this extraordinary technique the two companies have been able to enhance Como silk. Without photoengraving there is no square print and without a square print the Como textile district would not be the same”.

For Ivan Imperial, CEO of Foto Azzurra, “Thanks to this synergy, by combining mutual professionalism we will be able to make an effective contribution to the maintenance and development of traditional printing, the flagship of the Comasco sector.”

Foto Azzurra, Mantero and Ratti have deep roots in the Como textile district and a solid heritage of history and craftsmanship that deserves to be protected and enhanced. Sharing projects and ideas through collaboration between competitors has the common goal of creating a product of excellence made in Como and wants to be a driving force for other alliances and increasingly profitable synergies

Ratti silks protagonists of the Ferragamo exhibition

The magic of silk is interpreted by the Salvatore Ferragamo Museum as a story of passion and beauty.

The SETA exhibition aims to tell the perfect union between creative flair and craftsmanship excellence, including by Ratti, who is behind the production of these exclusive accessories.

In fact, Italy has always distinguished itself in silk production. Since the 1930s, the city of Como has excelled in silk printing, contributing to the spread of “Made in Italy”.

Today, the printing of Ferragamo scarves is made in Como, by different textile industries, such as Ratti, chosen, from time to time, on the basis of the specialties in which they excel.

The exhibition is divided into four sections: the exotic world and the East, the flowers, animals and historical shoes made by Salvatore Ferragamo, to conclude, then, with the visualization of how these scarves, and therefore these inspirations, coexisted with the world of clothing.

SETA celebrates the happy intuition of Fulvia Ferragamo, who inherited the passion of her father Salvatore in the early 1970s by starting a continuous production of scarves and textile accessories animated by virtuous motifs, dreamlike scenes and imaginative patchworks made with rare skill. Objects of desire and true works of art rich in symbolism and influences from every country in the world, these extraordinary masterpieces project Ferragamo’s infinite creativity and craftsmanship excellence into that indissoluble link between fashion, art and culture that still deeply inspires today the ethics and aesthetics of the maison

We will hug again

This year, made of problems and obstacles, let us understand the importance of relationships, expressed through a simple hug or a handshake: all gestures, that before the first lockdown, were taken for granted but now are more like a illusion.

For sure, we will  get back to normal but, in the meantime, among facemasks, sanitizing gel and restricted meetings the only way to express our feelings is through a greeting card, a little thought or a simple whatsapp voicemail. Unfortunately pixel can’t be touch, but technology is useful to let us relive a moment and bring up our memories or emotions.  Nothing is better to strengthen a relationship, but then…we will hug again.

Ratti and Valextra

For the first edition of Milan Fashion Digital Week, Valextra has created an installation in collaboration with Ratti, presented in the Via Manzoni flagship store and through a short film. Sailing Through Times tells the story of an imaginary sea journey, featuring Valextra’s most iconic bag, the Iside, as sailing boats. With its rigid, architectural trapeze shape, the Iside has become Valextra’s most popular model and a symbol of its craftsmanship prowess, design-focused and uncompromising approach, and timeless attitude to style.

Ratti and Valextra share many things in common: both founded between the two World Wars in Lombardia, by stubborn and visionary entrepreneurs who rooted their companies in creativity, innovation, quality and craftmanship excellence. This shared heritage led us to remain on top of our game for so many decades and respected by the industry as the best in class.

The Sailing Through Times installation combines 10 colorful graphic sails selected among patterns from the 60s, 70s and 80s, found in the rich Ratti archives. The sails accompany over 300 different Iside bags (featuring over 45 colours and 4 sizes), as symbol of sailing boats facing the sea.

The Ratti silk pieces represent friendly sails helping Valextra navigate through today’s troubled waters, colorfully blowing in the wind and leading us towards new, exciting adventures. Sailing through times, through the good and difficult ones, together.

RATTI loves CONVIVIO

In occasion of the new edition of Convivio, the most important Italian charity market in the fashion world, Ratti participates with its bandanas representing the themes of the Convivio logo, worn by volunteers and put on sale from June 6th to 10th 2018.

“It is an honor and a pleasure to be part of this – says Doni Ratti, president of the company – when it comes to charity the words are too many while the contributions become essential “.

In Ratti, we have always tried to put people before each aspect, nourish talents, cultivating ambitions and trying, in every way, to make our workplace a familiar one. It would be absurd, in fact, to talk about style, elegance and quality of Ratti’s prints, leaving out instead the human touch behind each fabric. For these reasons, Ratti is besides Convivio with 2.500 themed bandanas. We depend on each other in many ways, so that we can no longer live in isolated communities, but we must share, the good fortune we wish. Although Italy is going through a moment of demanding economy and social life, it is no longer possible to pursue selfishly believes without caring about the other’s needs. Convivio represents, once again, a turning point: 5 days of solidarity shopping with the aim of raising funds to never stop bravely dealing with a delicate issue such as fight against AIDS.

The funds raised during the Convivio period will be given to ANLAIDS, a section of Lombardy that has been operating in the region for over 30 years, supporting research and prevention, social-health assistance and not just for a moment, to keep alert on the problem alive of the spread of the virus.

Ratti opens their doors to students of “International Practicum”

The story that makes Ratti a leader in printing fine fabrics is the result of many values that go along more than 70 years of history; a push towards manufacturing excellence, originating from a complex of cultural and craft knowledge that, since 1945, has outlined a new model of style and elegance. Ratti promotes and supports the quality that returns in every single design, as evidence of a successful combination of craftsmanship and technological innovation, against the background of a strong goal of sustainable growth.

From the beginning, Ratti has worked with passion and the excellence achieved is the result of continuous work and a true way of thinking. For these reasons, Ratti believes and invests in the younger generations trying to discover and collaborate with students from different international universities, in order to foster cross-cultural growth.

Start in this way the collaboration with the Department of Economics of the Insubria University, in particular with the international project “International Practicum”, now at its 4th  edition, under the patronage of the Lombardy Region, which sees the students of the same university as protagonists and foreign students from the Business School of J. Moores University of Liverpool (United Kingdom) and the University of International Business of Almaty (Kazakhstan).

This is a project that Ratti has decided to support with the aim to promote new business ideas and the process of internationalization of the company in an increasingly competitive landscape, where the skills of the academic world merge with the industrial reality.
A team of students of different nationalities will work alongside Ratti management, for 7 months, on a challenging internationalization project in the e-commerce field.
Two worlds, Ratti and schools, which in recent years have often encountered giving life to ideas and projects made of stories, talents but, above all, people united by a common path which represents a small part of the journey. Culture of printing, art and know-how to express the requirements of knowledges and high prestige that have made Italy famous in the world.

Arabesque, Antonio Ratti the fabric as Art

Ratti, the Antonio Ratti Foundation and the National Roman Museum, Baths of Diocletian presents “Arabesque, Antonio Ratti the fabric as Art”, scheduled from the 14th of March to the 20th of May in Rome.
The new exhibition is part of a course that started last year in Palazzo Te, Mantua, with the intention to tell the passion for beauty of a refined, versatile character who, by investing in the formation and the appreciation of the fabric as art, has managed over the years to give emphasis to the art of printing.
The exhibition highlights the experimentation and innovation of Antonio Ratti’s creativity, exploring not only the poetics of his passion but also the connection between business, culture and humanistic culture. The story originates from this entrepreneurial experience, overlaps with the narration of the history of fabrics, unrevealing all its folds and letting the close link between art and fashion emerge.

Once again Ratti chooses to side with the world of art, in an unique occasion, the narration throughout fabrics directs the visitors’ gaze towards those elements that have accompanied the life of this patron and accompany them in an introspective and fascinating journey around creativity and talent.
